North Herts Sanctuary has developed and supported a hostel for single homeless since 1992. From 2011 they have worked in partnership with a service provider who manages operations at the Sanctuary for them.
The Charity continues to own the property, organise volunteers, raise funds for the hostel, and act as the public face of the Sanctuary in our area. Their aim is to assist the residents in turning round their lives and help them to gain the skills and resources to achieve independent living.
The strong and generous community support that they are given, has encouraged them recently to expand their sphere of operations. The Charity now supports other similar hostels and organisations concerned with alleviating local homelessness. This includes Stevenage Haven, Aldwyck Young Peoples Service, and Herts Young Homeless.
North Herts Sanctuary is always in need of support from volunteers to help at local charity events.
