Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Operator to join our clients dynamic team in Letchworth. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of warehouse operations and demonstrate proficiency in operating forklifts and handling materials. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient workflow and ensuring the safe movement of goods within our facility.
Its essential that the Counter Balance licence that you hold is valid and the licence is in your name.
Responsibilities
- Operate a Counter Balance forklift safely and efficiently to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the warehouse.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on forklift equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Accurately handle shipping and receiving tasks, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
- Maintain an organised warehouse environment by effectively utilising space and ensuring proper storage of materials.
- Assist in inventory management by conducting regular stock checks and updating the warehouse management system as necessary.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks while adhering to safety protocols.
- Perform heavy lifting as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.
- Hours are 7am-3pm Monday-Thursday and 7am-2.30pm Friday
- Competitive salary offered £14.20 per hour plus paid breaks

Candidate Specification
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or similar environment is essential.
- Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for troubleshooting equipment issues and performing basic repairs.
- Familiarity with materials handling processes, including load unloading techniques, is preferred.
- Experience with warehouse management systems will be considered a valuable asset.
